Events & Festivals In Agra
Apart from the Hindu and Muslim religious observances, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department organizes various festivals to boost tourism in the state and the city.
Taj Mahotsav - Held in February every year, the Taj Mahotsav is a celebration of arts, culture, dance and music,
cuisine. Held at Shilpgram, close to the Taj Mahal, the festival packs the best of what Uttar Pradesh has to
offer for a period of 10 days. One of the highlights of the festival is the procession, which literally transports one to the Mughal era. Bedecked elephants, camels, artists all add to the charm of the bygone era.
Urs - This fair is organized is held every year during the month of Ramzaan at the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisthi
at Fatehpur Sikri.
Sharadotsav - Held in October, this fair brings together artists, musicians, dancers all on a common stage. The artists and their performance light up the historical locations of Agra Fort and the Fatehpur Sikri.
