Houseboats can be booked for stay either on Dal Lake or Nagin Lake and the Jhelum River. The ones on Nagin Lake are more expensive, but the area surrounding Nagin Lake is much quiter than the area around Dal Lake. The cost of hiring a houseboat is inclusive of all meals and travel to and from the nearest jetty. Expect to pay upto Rs. 3000 for a couple per night on a deluxe houseboat. The houseboats on Jhelum River are very close to the bus station and the area is a little less expensive is quiet and nice.
