Where To Eat In Mumbai

Delectable Streetfood of Mumbai would surely be the highlight of the stay.

A potpourri of cuisines defines the demographics of this cosmopolitan city. You can pick up and enjoy anything from a Gujarati Thali, Parsi Food to Mexican, Thai or Italian food. Although there is no dearth of choices and restaurants, Mumbai fast food to visitors and Mumbaikars alike means the mouth-watering street food of Bhel Puri, Pav Bhaji, Paani Puri, Ragda Patties, Vada Paav, Bombay Sandwich.

Chowpatty is a great place to dig into some of the best known fast food including crisp Bhel Puris, filling Vada Paavs, Paani Puris. The popular Khao Galis are located in Zaveri Bazaar, Mohammed Ali Road and in Churchgate. These areas are characterized by a line of small shops and stalls selling fresh cooked food. Head out to the Khao Gali for the tastiest Pav Bhaji. Tie- clad executives are often seen digging into their pavs. Every locality in Mumbai has their own Pav joint. Parsi Dairy is another place to enjoy an authentic Pav Bhaji. For the best Vada Pavs try the ones outside the Churchgate Station and Grant Road Station.

In a mood to try Parsi food then head out to Jimmy Boy in the Fort Area. A number of Irani Cafes also line the city. Catch a cup of hot tea and Makhan-Pav (Bread and Butter) at these places. Other assorted snacks include the Kheema-na-Pattice made of ground meat, samosas and Mava-na-Cakes. One of the popular Irani cafe is the Cafe Military in the Fort area.

For the best assortment in thalis try Rajdhani at Kalbadevi which serves Rajasthani food. Aram near the Mahim Church and Shree Thakker Bhojanalaya serve authentic Gujarati Thalis.

Just Biryani is another chain spread throughout the city. The outlets serve some great meals. Oh Calcutta is a place to enjoy authentic Bengali food of Macher-Jhol or Fish with Rice.

Bade Miyan in Colaba attracts the tie-clad executives as well as the taxi drivers. It dishes out some of the best food in Mumbai.

For fine dining Indigo, Olive Bar and Kitchen are good choices.

Round up a good Mumbai meal with yummy kulfis for desert. The food stalls at Chowpatty sell some great falooda. Kulfi Centre, Big Byte, Bachelors Juice House are other great places to enjoy falooda.
