Where To Eat In Jaipur

Daal-Baati-Churma, a mouth-watering Rajasthani Delight.

In line with the royal traditions of this princely state, food preparation is considered an art here. A host of eateries carry the popular Rajasthani food combination of Daal-Baati-Churma, or oven-baked wheat balls served with lentils and powdered sweetened cereal. A great place to enjoy this traditional Rajasthani meal is in the dhabas near the Central Bus Stand. Another famous eatery is the Lakshmi Mishthaan Bhandar, at Jauhari Bazaar where you can grab a bite of another popular sweet dish of Jaipur, the Ghewar. This deep-fried sweet dish is very popular during the festivals of Teej and Gangaur. Traditional Rajasthani vegetable dishes like Gatte Ki Sabji, Mangori, Pakodi and Ker Sangri are a part of every meal.

To get the real feel of a traditional Rajasthani full course meal complete with their hospitality head out to Choki Dhaani. Tourists can enjoy the meal sitting on the floor. The food is served with lots of Desi Ghee (clarified butter). The place also combines a bazaar with vendors selling their wares, folk dance and music, camel rides all to give the true feel of a Rajasthani village.
