Many accidental deaths and injuries can be avoided by keeping, installing good safety equipments in your homes. Read information about different safety equipments that can help prevent accidents and reduce injury in the case of an accident.
 

  • Smoke alarm can avert major fire accidents. Test the smoke alarm once a week to ensure that they are working properly. Replace the battery of the alarm at regular intervals. Place smoke alarms and detectors in all rooms other than the kitchens.
  • Keep specially made fire blankets at home. Train everyone at home to use them. Even young children can be taught to use fire blankets during emergencies. Keeping fire blankets at home can prevent minor fires. Fire blankets are easy to use and need no washing after use.
  • Buy a fire extinguisher and place it in a place where it is easily accessible in the house. Fire extinguishers come in different sizes. Choose one according to the space available at home. Ensure that the extinguisher is checked and serviced regularly.
  • Use power point covers or safety plugs. Safety plugs are designed in such a way that children find it hard to remove. Safety plugs fit the sockets perfectly and thus ensure safety.
