Getting Around Sikkim

Tourists have the option to hire a taxi to go around the state. Buses, un-metered taxis, and jeeps and other four-wheel drives can also be hired.

The capital city of Gangtok is connected by road to Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri and to other districts within the state. The Sikkim Nationalized Transport operates regular bus service to all the major cities with the state and in West Bengal as well.

The Himalayan Kingdom can also be explored by way of a helicopter service. The Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation conducts mountain tours to the higher reaches of the Himalayas offering tourists a breathtaking view of the snow-capped peaks.
