How To Get There?

By Air

The nearest airport to Sikkim is the Bagdogra Airport in the state of West Bengal. Bagdogra is at a distance of 124 kms from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Daily regular flights come in from Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata to Bagdogra.

By Helicopter

There is a helicopter service from the Bagdogra Airport into Sikkim. The journey on the helicopter takes around 20 minutes and requires prior booking. The service is operational only once during the day and takes around 4 passengers.

By Rail

The stations at Siliguri (110 kms) and New Jalpaiguri (126 kms) are nearest to Sikkim. Trains from Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and other major cities of India ply into the stations. Private taxis and regular buses further transport passengers to Gangtok.

By Road

Road travel is a fast and convenient owing to a good network of roads that run through the area. Kolkata (721 kms), Darjeeling (105 kms), Guwahati (589 kms), Patna (584 kms) are all connected to Sikkim through a network of well-developed and maintained roads.
