Short description

A slight glance and you may ignore this tiny stretch of islands on India's map but be rest assured a trip to Andaman and Nicobar islands would easily qualify as the trip of a lifetime. Sprinkled somewhere in the corner of the Indian Ocean, this picture postcard locale seems totally inspired by an artists brush. White gleaming sand set against the mesmerizing backdrop of turquoise water and plentiful sunshine to top it all adds to a recipe for a holiday destination with no parallels.

Trivia

It is believed that the name Andaman originated from the name of the Hindu Monkey God, Hanuman or Handuman (in Malay) who is said to have used the island as a stepping-stone when he was on his way to Sri Lanka to rescue Goddess Sita, consort of Lord Rama.
