Getting Around Andaman-And-Nicobar

Surface and Water Transport options available to tourists

Passenger ferries are the only way to travel from one island to the next. Visit to each island would take a day or two and prior permission is needed to visit some of the islands.

Auto Rickshaws are available in plenty at Port Blair and Havelock Island. A round trip within the boundaries of the town would cost anywhere from Rs.2050.

Another great way to explore the pristine islands is by hiring a Motorcycle or a Scooter. Plenty of two-wheelers are available on rent in Port Blair and on Havelock Island.

Many buses ply between Port Blair and South Andaman. Tourist taxis and Call Taxis are also available although in limited numbers.

Although all amenities exist in terms of transportation, there is truly no better way to experience Andaman and Nicobar islands than by walking with the sea breeze caressing your face.
